Rear bumper storage

Greetings Caravel owners (from a Bambi guy):

I am looking to redesign the rear bumper of my 1964 Bambi II to create storage space for the sewer hose and other sundry set-up items. I recently viewed a 1968 Caravel, but did not have a chance to measure the rear bumper area.

How far does the rear bumper protrude from the body? What are the basic measurements of the inside of the rear bumper storage area?

Our trailers are about the same size. I could go completely rogue and just custom design it, but I don't want to make the modification too big or look out of place.

58 inches frame member to frame member, door is 6" wide, edge of door to back of trailer is 7.5" at middle of trailer.

The bumper protrudes about 12"... I had one installed by the dealer, and the extra storage is very useful...
