What is this?

Hello all!

Some of you might remember me from a couple years ago. My dad is kind enough to pass his unused for 5 years 1975 Tradwind Landyacht 25' to me and my family. Even his tow vehicle (GMC Safari 1999 3.4 V6).

I am cleaning up and just got to the storage compartment at the back above the bumper.

I found this thingy (see picture) and do not know what it is.

Anyone?

Thank you!
Ghislain

Sewer drain hose support. It will provide the proper slope and telescopes to the proper length. At least it looks like it telescopes in the photo.

I don't know what it is, but I would guess it's a support for the sewer hose (a.k.a. "stinky slinky") between the outlet on the trailer to the sewer connection at a full hookup campground. Such things are handy for keeping the sewer hose at a desirable angle for the waste water to run downhill.

You might put the high end next to the dump outlet on the trailer and see if it's the right height for that purpose.

Hi there!

That totally makes sense. It is telescopic...

Thank you!

Ya know, that's a great idea. What is it made out of? Looks like maybe a piece of rain gutter that somebody bent to shape? Stick a couple of feet on it and yer done.

I too have one. And that is what it is of course, (a slinky stand).
But I would like to know more. Is it something Airstream furnished?
Anyone know when and where they were sold or obtained?
Maybe an old RV supply catalog circa 1974-75...?

Hello Inland Andy....have you any idea?

One of those came with our MH. It is indeed a slinky holder. Ours is made of aluminum.

Looks like a ramp for the wast hose, so it may work better when some sewer connections are above grade.

Maybe someone can help you better, but I have seen this picture before in a what is this post. If I recall they are tire block or stop. I will see if I can find the post.

Wheel chock clamp. Place between the tandem axle tires and clamp it down. Keep the trailer from rocking and rolling.

What is this!

Hello again all!

I have another "what is this" question:

This small thing rests on the lid of trunk of my 1975 TradeWind.

Any idea?

Thank you !
Have a good day!

The bottom picture is upside down, right?

It looks like a windshield washer nozzle, but that's an odd place to mount one. So, based on its proximity to the license plate, could it be a fiber optic powered light for the license plate? I'd take the nut off, open it up and see what's inside, if anything.
