NT22A Furnace replacement

I have a 1971 25' Tradewind with what appears to be the original NT22A furnace and I believe it needs to be replaced. I would appreciate suggestions as to what to replace it with. I know that the 22000 BTU is no longer available. Can anyone tell me if the NT30 would be a direct replacement, or will I have to modify the ductwork?

You can use a new NT30 but you have to make some modification. You need to build a base to raise the furnace to a level which will line up with the original inlet/ exhaust outlet. If you want to use the original ductwork you need to build a plenum. I used wood for the new base and repurposed the old furnace cabinet to use as a plenum. I believe you can find this info in the archives if you do a search If you need more help let me know.

By the way the NT22 was recalled because of CO leaks.

I just did this install a few months back....

I used the nt30s for my 1971 replacement furnace, I used the original plenum and had to raise it as well to line up with the furnace exhaust holes. PM me if you need any help.

Just recently did this on my 76, it had a NT24 but the idea was the same. All I had to do is raise the furnace up, I think it was about 1.5 inches or so. Everything else lined up. I found the NT-30 online and paid somewhere around $600 shipped. Good luck!

Thanks all for the replies.
Anyone have some pictures of the modifications used? I have removed the old unit and am ready to rehab the old case/plenum for the new unit.

Bill,
I will post some pictures later this morning of what I did and what I would do differently.

Bill,
Sorry for the delay, here are the pictures of the way I did it, the 2x4's are OVERKILL and I would have scaled it back some (like 2x2) if done again. also I had to raise the front up about 1/2" vs the back(side against the skin) due to the curve in the trailer - Hope this helps..
