1972 Tradewind

I just picked up a 1972 Tradewind. It's been parked at a deer lease in Sonora, Texas for the past seven years. It was parked in a barn, 25 miles away, since 1987. It's mostly original, and in fairly good shape.

I had an Argosy 7.3 Minuet prior to this, so I know the fun begins now. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions. Thanks in advance.

And BTW, I've tried every which way to load these picture right side up...HELP!

Looks like a great canvas. How far do you plan to go with it? The renovation that is?
Sonora is a neat little town, camped at the Caverns of Sonora late last year.

Hopefully, a full restoration with some updates. The wife doesn't really care for the bathroom...you know how that goes. The frame is solid, the body looks good, but we haven't really gotten into it yet. It pulled like a dream..I made it almost 400 miles with no issues. Tires looked new, except for the dry rot, so I stopped for tires in Kerrville.

Can't wait to get busy with it. I'm recently retired so time is all I have, lol.

And yes, the Caverns of Sonora are awesome.

Looks great.
The rear ends on these are prone to water intrusion into the subfloor under the shower pan. Pull the rear trim strip and check for rot. When done seal the seam between the skin and the bumper cover with Tempro. I also put down a thin bead on the top of the trim before reinstalling it.

Good Luck,
Tom

Thanks Tom, that bathroom design does have me a little concerned.

Your trailer is 100% exactly like my '72 floor layout.

Have fun with yours! I just recently started my full Monty.

I too am renovating a 1972 Tradewind, twin-bed version just like yours. My shell should be back on by the end of this week.

It's a lot of work...but it's fun! Good luck with your build.

I can't wait to see the progress on both of your builds. We put ours on the back burner for awhile...catching up on other projects. Hopefully we will be working on ours soon.
