Got a '63 FC

Just purchased a 63 Flying Cloud, but the bathroom door is wood. Is this an option for that year or after market? Here is a Picture. Thanks for the help.

I've never seen one like it before, so I suspect a previous owner added this modification.

Congratulations!

It's hard to tell if the door is original or added by a PO...the paint hides being able to tell how well the wood matches. The hardware does not look like it matches the style of the typical '63 hardware - so that leads me to believe it's been added. Oh, if only they could talk...

The awning is COOL!

Regardless, enjoy it!

Flying Cloud

The number on the front and back caps in red is 9859, and has a gold lettered silver plate International rally Wally Byam caravan club Cadillac MI 6/29-7/5 1966. Can anyone add light on this? Was this on a International rally, or just to Cadillac Michigan? I have never seen one of these plaques before.

The red numbers were a previous owner's WBCCI membership number. You can request to have the number re-issued to you if you join the club. If it is not currently assigned and has been un-used for a couple of years, they will let you have it. To find info on 9859, you will have to check with someone who has directories back through the years to 1966. Numbers are reassigned though, so it may be the owners in 1966 or a subsequent owner. There are folks here on the forums that have old directories and can assist with your search...

The 1966 WBCCI International Rally was held in Cadillac, MI. The previous owners probably attended...each year the rally produces a octagon-shaped "plaque" that attendees can get as a momento of the rally. This tradition still is in effect today - we have plaques from each of the 5 International Rallies we have attended.

1966 - Cadillac, MI was an International Rally.

I was there with my Mom & Dad in their 1962 Overlander. I think this picture was taken there.

That is pretty cool that the airstream I just got was there. Thanks for the picture!
