1960 Pacer restoration
I thought a number of member's here might be interested in a full restoration my company went through on a 1960 AIrstream Pacer. Colin Hyde and his team did a lot of the heavy lifting but we ended up taking on some of the restoration ourselves.
The Pacer was the centerpiece of our tradeshow booth and, to say the least, was a huge hit at the first show we went to.
Here is a link to the photo album of before, during and after pictures.

Nice job. I wish that I had seen this before I started my '60 Pacer, I might have done a few things a little different. The new eyebrow above the door is nice. Can I get you to make one of those for my Pacer?

Congratulations on a very fine restoration! Glad to see you kept so much of the original interior.
This brings a lot of nostalgia. Looking at the restoration photos, I see you have serial number SS 0378. We had SS 0377.
From the restoration pictures, I see yours originally had sprung axles. The Pacer was apparently a "beta test" trailer for Dura Torque axles; ours had the factory Dura Torque axle when we got it. I have seen about four 1960 Pacers at rallies and they were evenly divided between Dura Torques and sprung axles. The mounting arrangement of the early Dura Torque axle on our Pacer was different than presently used; when we had our axle replaced at the factory they had to fabricate a mounting plate much like the one you show in the restoration photos.
We sold our Pacer several years ago in favor of a little larger and newer Airstream. But I recently exchanged emails with the lady who bought it, and learned she has kept the wheels turning ever since. What wonderful old machines to still be on the road at the age of 52!

Actually - Colin Hyde had that at his shop. You may want to give him a call. Also (I believe) Steve at VTS is thinking of making them - you may want to give him a call too.
Good luck!

That's a good idea, get the company to restore an airstream and all the employees can use it or maybe just me! Nice trailer!

Eyebrow
I have to do an eyebrow too. I found this article for when I get started. Thought it might be helpful. » How to fabricate a 50′s eyebrow drip cap.

Hey - the link to the photo album isn't working - would you please check the link? I'd love to see the work you did.
