sticking pull thingie for the black h20

Does anyone have any ideas on dealing with a sticking pull lever that operates the dump port on the black water box. I've pulled, shaken hammered on the lever that sticks out the side and it won't budge. I could have sworn I saw it work when I was considering this purchase. The only thing I havn't done yet is crawl underneath and stick my schnozz up there to eyeball it. It would indeed be a drag to have a toilet that you could see but not use - a new twist on Dante's Inferno

Oh man. Not the funnest think in the world to be pulling real hard on. I would hate to have black tank "snap" while trying to pry the valve loose.
Good luck.

Hi henrydahm--Just a thought as I read your story. If you believe you saw it work before you purchased it--could it now be in the open position, and therefore you can't open it any farther? Try tapping it closed and see what happens.--Frank S

Ive seen a couple of these that will lock to keep it from opening unexpectedly. Like a little red knob on the handle, or the handle will screw down on some threads.

just a thought...

tried that too

Yep! it does not move either way, There is a small aluminum z shaped piece that looks like it is intended to hold the detent in the closed position. The detent, however is sticking out too far for it to work - indicating that it may be partially open. I wish there were some sort of drawing of it so I would know what I was looking at.

thanks for the idea

I'll look for a knob / threads but I've looked pretty hard at it. The PO said he always had to use pliers to grab on to it to open it - guess it won't dump by accident at this point
