Our New 1960 Tradewind Land Yacht!

That's right! One more. 24D0324.

We love her already! We've been looking for a double axle, door within a door, relatively smaller Airstream since we went to our first rally.

She's got one little dent on one of her upper curbside rear panels, but it looks like it will pop right out. The Bargman lock handle has broken in half and one of the past owners added a hasp for a padlock. The axles and leaf springs look good. The propane lines upon initial inspection also look good and are functional. The hot water heater access panel door is missing its lock. The curbside storage door is locked and the owner did not have any keys.

There's a nickle-sized hole in the solar/fiberglass skylight up front. The zolatone needs to be cleaned and there are some small areas that are flaking along the seams by the front end cap. The front gaucho is missing as is the refrigerator. Add fresh water tank to that list (it looks like one of the past owners just snapped the water line at the lower streetside). The 3/4 bed is missing the mattress-but that's probably a good thing, right? The cabinets are all there but the finish is flaking and is very brittle. The original air conditioner is present-it hums, but doesn't kick in. The two accordion doors separating the "bedroom" from the galley and bath are present but the curtains are long since gone.

And then there's the floor. The most recent owner decided to just go over the soft spots with 3/8 inch plywood and then went over it all with linoleum tiles.

We plan on picking her up at the end of July. We'll post images then. (We brought a camera with us but were so excited that we didn't even think to capture any images-well that and it being 97 degress outside at seven thirty in the evening).

Yay! Lucky, lucky us!

We're sure we'll be posting lots of questions once we bring her home and will look forward to hearing from you.
