Glad to see you back at it. We moved from Houston area years ago to our current and last location in Central Texas. We had accumulated stuff for thirty years I sorted through and headed to the city dump. Now we’re working on our next thirty year’s stuff. Get back to work on the 66 and keep us posted on your progress. Good luck and stay safe.

Slats- did you keep the trailer out in P Hill or bring it to a location closer to downtown? Happy to stop in and lend a hand. Also, have a friend who's wanting to restore a vintage trailer, who's retired and might be a free volunteer. for you. LMK, Jerry

Well Hello Slats: We've been concerned about you. My, you have been busy with an experience most of us go through in life. Down size. We did it when we moved to Colorado. It is a bit traumatic at first, but you'll develop new routines that make the new place seem like home. You have many friends here no matter where you live.
I put a new fresh water tank in my old Trade Wind. I didn't know what might be in the old one, and it wasn't translucent so I couldn't really see in there.
Anyway, it wasn't the hardest job I did on the Trade Wind.
Enjoy the holiday season in your new place.

Glad to hear from you. Hey life sometimes gets in the way of Airstream projects. That can be a good thing.
It is definitely a project moving out of a house you have been in for 31 years and downsizing to a condo. But maybe less time spent on home renovation and maintenance and more time available for the Airstream.
I designed and built our home 48 years ago and I am not going anywhere. So we are in the middle of some house renovation projects so any work on both Airstreams has come to a screeching halt. Oh well.
Glad you are back!

Slats- the best way to get the photos right side up is to slightly crop them in a program like Paint if you're using a PC, or similar if a Mac. Jerry

The tanks look like new; satifying job. I may have missed this info in the earlier discussion, but tanks, valves and regulator look vintage (like mine; oringinal to '72 overlander). Would this assumption be correct? I'm unsure which way to go on my trailer. Should I change the whole thing out or recert and continue using. The reg still works, the valves connections seal, but so much easier with the newer LP setups.

Recertification aluminum tanks. Replace the regulator, hoses and fittings... they all leak eventually.

I wasn't planning on using the old regulator, but haven't really settled on the replacement. I had local company, Ferrellgas, replace the valves and re-certify the tanks. The guys working there really earn their money, humping larger tanks on and off trucks all day.

I drove down to Nixa, Missouri, a few days ago and picked up a 42 gallon 9 x 17.75 x 58 fresh water tank, a propane tank base and a new regulator with an automatic switch-over. Tip of the hat to Atomic_13 for telling me about Jazz Sales. If you haven't checked out their web site, https://jazzsales.com/, noodle around in it. They have a great selection of tanks and other stuff. It was going to cost $75 for UPS to deliver it to me in Kansas City, so for $25 worth of diesel fuel I got to get out of town and spend the day on the road, listening to a little music and checking in with a few friends on a hands free phone along the way. A road trip is a road trip to me.

Thanks, Dan. It feels good to get back in the saddle. I bought a new DeWalt table saw today and had fun setting it up and using it.
