Hey there @the544man!! I'm so going to check out your pics of the '56 Bubble!! Congrats on completing your reno and finally realizing your vision come to life!
My darling Bubble will be very elegant...cool grays, creamy whites, touches of turqoise and very funky lighting/countertops/interior. Most definitely planning on polishing her, but trust me that little fish on the front left won't be subtle once I'm done with her! We're ready to start with the electrical, and then insulation, and then skin install...all the while stripping the interior....and finally the interior build!
Feel free to share our reno vicariously anytime you want!
BTW - we have some dear friends in Salem who have a '53 Flying Cloud, a '59 big AS (can't remember the model) and a '48 Curtis Wright.
Stay tuned - the fun is just beginning

Hi monah, I just came across this, missed it before somehow. Anyway congrats on your new Bubble. It looks like it would be the perfect size for a personal ride for Hagar.
So...when we were renovating our '69 AS I absolutely refused to allow anyone other than the dear friends, including our contractor, who were working on the reno...to see the work in progress. My husband and I showed up to OR Unit rallys for the day, sans trailer and at some point our garage became known as "Area 51" and we were commended on our outstanding photoshop skills.
Fast forward to BubbleLicious...she's not only participated in a caravan...she's participated in an Open House!!! I've always wanted to be part of an Airstream caravan - anytime I see more than one close together on the road I wonder "where are they going" so hubs & I hosted a Caravan to join the WA Unit at their annual Crab Feed at the Lacey WA Land Yacht Harbor. I led the caravan, pulling BL...and behind me were six more AS of varying size and vintage. It was sooooo much fun to see all of those beauties on the road, and even more fun to see the reaction of people in the cars who passed me smiling and clearly enjoying the caravan.
Had a fantastic time with the WA Unit folks...our PJ Bicycle Parade was a hit and so was our Open House later in the day. BubbleLicious was absolutely darling, and very gracious when my husband & our friend Brad (aka Goober) plotted to merchandise her interior with a Man-Camping (Mamping) theme (seriously, Goober in our Bertoia chair, with a propane tank and Fire Pit holding an Old German Beer?) Hate to admit it but it was absolutely darling. Thankfully we moved through that to a much more elegant merchandising theme...Mamping, seriously!!
Hope you're all well - headed to Baker City for 4th of July but BL is staying home for this one! Look forward to seeing some of you there "nice awning!"

Thanks Lisa - I would so love to come to the Region 10 Rally but not sure I can make it...work - professional and Bubble...are keeping me pretty busy. Look forward to meeting you someday!
Glad you guys like the pics....am meeting with electrician this week so we can get this party started!!!
I know what you mean . . . this crazy thing called "work" keeps getting in the way of our fun too! Sigh. Counting the years till retirement. When we meet then, just look for me with the Eiffel Tower base walker:
Like I really have any...but somehow I find the time!!! Attached is a link Heck Yeah I've Towed an Airstream!!! - Airstream Forums to my Airforums blog, which is really a link to my new blog/column called AskMona on TrailerChix.com.
Hope you find it informative, with of course a little Mona-flair thrown in for good measure.
