1960 Land Yacht (Tradewind)

Just found this and considering picking it up.

From the pics, does 2k seem reasonable for this project?

Use this guide: Price vs. Condition - Vintage Airstream
Also, keep in mind that 2K is a drop in the bucket compared to the restoration cost.

Not for 2K. Your cloud is in better shape for less money. I would either pass or see if they would take less. Lots of work there.

No more than $1200

That's about all I'd offer, probably more like $1k. Plus, I don't think it's a Trade Wind - too long. Looks more like an Ambassador to me.

I was thinking the same thing as the Trade Wind in 1960 would have been far more likely to be a single axle as the tandem was an up-grade uption prior to 1964. I was thinking Overlander, but Ambassador is also a good possibility.

I agree with Rob! Significant dents, no interior...however it is a nice year!!! Looks way longer than my 60 tradewind. Would not pay over $1000.

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.

Do you have any plans or sketches/ measurements? You used the space perfectly as far as im concerned. We have 3 little ones, so 5 is essential! It looks awesome!

Also, now that I am a proud owner of a 1960 Ambassador, it's time to stop shopping and start restoring.
I picked up the Ambassador for $1500 but that included registration transfer and title. And it doesn't appear I will need to pull the shell. It has been gutted but the plywood floors and everything underneath appear to be in good shape; however I will need to install a holding tank.

If I want to pull the walls to rewire and replace installation, can I do this without Removing the shell?

Thanks, but we can't take any credit for the layout. It's original.

You can find out more about original layouts here:
