Air Completed

As someone once said if it was easy everyone would do it.

After waiting 3+ months to get the A/C I either ordered the wrong model or the supplier wrote it up wrong. I only really discovered this after I threw away the packing material and had the thing up on the roof...no way was that sucker coming back down and going back.

What I wanted was a manual control system with a heat strip. What I got was a thermostat controlled with a heat pump. The problem was discovered when I was looking at the wires that were suppose to connect to the inside control box.

The problem is I needed to run a cat 4 cable to the stat. and the A/C control box needed a 12v supply. When wiring the airstream I did not see this coming so now everything was close up and I had to do some thinking out side the box to accomplish a clean no wire look.

The cat 4 wire was run down the edge of the wall and then covered up by the aluminum trim piece and a little creative wood work to mount the thermostat close by. The 12v was fished and tied into the 12v used for the forward fan . Both can be on and not have an overload.

Finally I had to order a new inside control panel and special thermostat.
Good thing its only time and money.

Shower Pan

Finally got the shower pan made up and now installed. All the plumbing is hooked up and no leaks. The only thing need yet is to fabricate a sliding door for the bath area. The inside can now be turned over to the other half and she can start outfitting the kitchen area.

Looking good

What are the dimentions of your bathroom? That looks pretty much what I am thinking for my bathroom. I was planning on having a stainless pan made as well and wasn't quite sure how I would work in the wheel well thing but that looks like you have it figured out. What is the counter made out of?

The dimensions of the shower/bath area are approximately 36" by 64". The counter tops are scratch resistance formica.

Beautiful work islandtrader. Is this a wet bath or will you be installing a shower curtain?

Thanks,
Really not sure. A shower curtain would be nice. Not sure how to mount a track and keep every thing looking neat on a curved ceiling.

Will try it out a few time being wet and see how much of a mess it makes.

Terry, you’re about there. How did it trailer? Did you have any WD bars set up? I feel the excitement for you. Great job.

Thanks, It really wasn't a long pull. I was trying to figure out how to use the new RAM trailer features. Next week I will take it off island and see what it does on the highway. Then to the weigh station. That will give me a good idea how to proceed from there. I am hoping that I will not need a WD hitch.

In May we are off to Texas so maybe we can hook up?

Terry, let us know when you’re heading out. We’ll meet up. State parks in Texas are really good, but popular. Book site early as you travel through the State. Take care

Last Piece-Done

I know there will be a lot of little stuff to attend to. However I can say all the major work is now D O N E

Just finished up making a barn type door on rollers to close off the bath.

Pretty simple frame and then used hurricane type corrugated metal(light wt.) and a 40# barn door cabinet roller system.

The next step is to weigh the trailer and balance it out.

Very nice

That's a good looking door. I like the hardward too. Another great idea.

Trailer Weigh In

Finally got the aluminum can off the island today.

Went to the weigh station and was happy with the results No water in any tanks. Minimum dishes and extra gear. Full propane tanks.

Any guesses ?

It came in at 3,640#. Thats about 800# over the original weight. Not bad.
My tongue weight came in at 400#. So I think I am good to go.

Last Item...

The last thing that we needed was our window coverings.

D O N E!

We use reflex in our windows when we have a direct sun coming in. However we did want something that looked nice and also blocked light. Our solution was to buy some black out material from sailrite and have some coverings made.

Pretty simple set up. Flat aluminum bar for the rod and a small 1/2" cpvc pipe for the bottom weight...2 back pack snaps for the roll up and 2 SS snaps to hold the covering tight against the curve.

We are heading out in the middle of May...Will be in Texas hill country and west Texas for the month. If you see us out there give us a wave

Nice window covering design. I have filed it away for possible future use! My sister is a seamstress.

Sounds like a great time! Interesting how many miles you did without the trailer.
