Unhappy STOLEN '59 18 footer - Seattle

Everyone,

Please keep your eyes peeled for our beautiful 1959 18 footer that was stolen off our property this morning. I've checked the local craigslist and on ebay with nothing so far. We did a total frame off restoration this year with a polish only a year old. It is gorgeous, serial number 18D0106, Wa license plate 9730SY.

If anyone sees this trailer, please pm us. Thank you!

Ryan and Katie Weber

Ryan and Katie - we'll certainly keep an eye out here, this is scary!!! Did you have a hitch lock on it, or just a pad lock etc? Good luck on the search, hopefully they won't get far!

R&K Sorry to hear of your lose.
Will keep eyes open but that beauty is probably out of state by now.

locks

We had two locks on it: One was a padlock through the coupler lock and the second was a tongue lock. The padlock was left on the pad and it looks like they took bolt cutters to it. The tongue lock was gone minus a couple of chips. Ryan suspects they took a hammer to it.

Grrr.

Really hard to believe people would stoop so low as to steal your classic Airstream. They should restore their own! Anyway we will keep a look out for it and carry the serial number should we spot it and report it.

Sorry for your loss. We will keep an eye out for your trailer. This hits a little to close too home. I can't even imagine what your going through. Good luck on the recovery of your little gem.

Have you contacted the border crossing? Just a thought.

Not sure if you can do a search on craigslist that covers the entire US but if everyone checks their local craigslist, maybe it will show up somewhere. Nothing in Idaho so far.

Wow - what part of Seattle do you live in? This is scary... from your property and locked up! I'll keep my eyes peeled. I think I'll have to reconsider my lock system.

The Max fan in front, new Penguin AC, and wheels look distinctive. I do go up I5 from time to time to visit my trailers, so I'll keep an look out. (No room by my house in Seattle to keep them here).

I will certainly keep my eyes open, and I will search Craigslist. I hope that it is found very soon.

One more thought... perhaps if you drive down to the loading docks by the Shipping Terminals... bring a pic to give to the gate keepers down there incase someone is thinking of shipping it overseas.

We live in a wonderful area of West Seattle. Great neighbors, etc, always looking out for each other. We love it here.

I hate to bring it up.. but you might contact places that handle aluminum recycling as well.

Does your trailer have a model name beside 18 footer?

I have always said that a lock only keeps your friend away...but I hope the forum friend can help you find it. Call the Airstream clubs and dealers in the states around you to post it with pictures. Go to the WBCCI Reigion website and get email addresses. I wish you the best of luck. Lou

I copied your post and photos and will carry it with me for the next couple of years. Doesn't weigh much or take up much room. I think that between all the folks on this forum we will find your trailer. It would be so much fun to be responsible for locking up the "bad guys".

Doesn't that just suck! I really feel for you.

We are out east but heading for the Mid-Winter IBT in Montgomery, Texas and will keep a close eye on any Airstream especially yours. If everyone does the same maybe you will be lucky and get it back.

Sad, very sad. Best of luck finding it soon. I'm a bit too far to have seen it by now if it came this direction but will keep an eye out.

Now, to catch my breath from running outside to check on mine.......
