How did the purps know what size ball? Some research went into this. Crumbs had six hours to book before it was discovered stolen. One can cover some ground in that time, given they had the same electrical pigtail, which, to navigate out of West Seattle, would have to be hooked-up. This is cop country & we love it, but a fresh rig towing a cutie out of town would not attract interest, only admiration.

It might not hurt to let our European and Australian counterparts know of this. Someone there may be buying a trailer that they do not know is stolen.
Is anyone aware of any RV groups on those countries who could be made aware? Also, there are several Airstream resellers in European countries who I'd be making aware of this theft. That way if someone has suggested to them that they have an Airstream for sale and will ship it, they'd need the S/N etc. for shipping and insurance, so they'd be able to let you know that they have been contacted.
Just a thought. Nip the shipping of it in the bud.

Craigslist Search Tool
I routinely scan Craigslist. It's a pain (at least for me) switching between local sites in search of that "Great Deal". I recently found the site below that shows me all the Craigslist listings for Airstreams nationally.
This may be helpful in this circumastance and to others as well. If this is already common knowledge then it proves that I am once again behind the learning curve...
www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/rv.cgi?itm=airstream
The other thought I had was to start a page on Craigslist listing your stolen property. Just a thought...

I posted a theft alert on my blog. Included a photo and link to the video. I know nothing may come of it, but I at least feel like I'm part of the solution. We just need to get the word out.
Hope this helps.
Big hugs!
/Lois

I don't know if that's a good idea. I'd rather see it come up for sale. I'd be afraid if it was too 'hot' it might just end up hidden away or destroyed.

Yes that approach could be a double edge sword....Sort of a "Do I, Don't I" scenario.

With 500 or so lbs resting on it, any ball smaller than the coupler would work, seems to me. They steal police cars, passenger jets, jumbo tankers in the strait of Hormuz, - a trailer is hardly a challenge, when you think about it. I did, however, order a Gorilla Lock off Ebay- I think it was right at $30, free shipping. All we can do is make it a hassle for the thieves, so they move on. I still bet the stolen '59 turns up soon- too distinctive, too "hot", like famous artwork.

I'd thought that too, but unlike artwork, this dear is made to travel, not sit in someone's art gallery...we'll find it & I hope they're logged on and understand what they've done.

Hey all,
We've not heard anything yet...
Today has been really hard on me and seeing today's posts with a positive spin really helps bring me around. I just want our aluminum baby home.

One addition to my earlier post and after I looked at the news video,
You have a great family.
Your trailer will be found - we all hope in the same condition you last saw it. Good luck and we are all looking with you for a safe return.

There is a listing on Sacramento's craiglist for a fully equiped trailer for $16000. Anyone know who this is? I'm going to email them for photos...

I just looked; not any info for a 16K outfit is suspicious. Call Seattle P.D. & have them check it out.

It is a 1987 27-32" trailer with the tow bar that prevents the trailer from swinging. It has two air conditioners, one heater, refrigerator, shower, two twin beds in the back and the couch turns into a bed. I can be reached at 530 xxx xxxx

Hmm, we got a stolen trailer here; I suggest real owners add more info to their ads so we don't get sidetracked.
