Stabilizer jacks 1964 Overlander

Does anyone know where to purchase stabilizer jacks for the 1964 Overlander and any required specifications? When I purchased the trailer, mine it did not come with any. Also where is the placement of the jacks??

If you had to use a jack to change a tire where are the jacking points underneath??

BAL is the manufacturer of the stabilizer jacks that are utilized for most Airstreams. The BAL jack that you need for your Overlander is one that the company makes with an extended drive screw to accommodate the mounting requirements of the Airstream. My preferred Airstream dealer supplied the BAL stabilizer jacks for both my Overlander and Minuet. It is my understanding that any BAL dealer can special order these special Airstream models of their stabilizers, but an Airstream dealer is the only place that you have a possibility of finding them in-stock. The stabilizers are accompanied by a rather detailed installation guide.

There are two methods of raising your Airstream to change a flat or remove a tire. First, the easiest, is to have a series of leveling blocks that you use to either back or pull the fully inflated tire of the side with the flat up onto providing the clearance necessary to remove the wheel with the flat. Second is to utilize a bottle jack with sufficient capacity to lift your coach to jack near the axle mounting point (steel plate used to mount axles).

My 63 utilized aluminum protable jacks not mouted to the trailer. Two were placed under the rear bumper close to the mounts on each side. The nose jack was the other stabliizer. Thes jack stands are frequently seen on ebay. They usually go for about $30 a pair.

The factory recommended jacking positions to raise the trailer off the wheels is on the frame just ahead or behind the where the wheels mount to the frame. On later models the put a decal in this position. They do not recommend jacking on the plate that mounts the axles. It is pretty thin and sideward motion is likely to bend the plate and the trailer fall off.
