I bought a 68 in south carolina last october. South Carolina does not require a title or registration on a trailer, or atleast that is what I was told by the seller. The seller gave us a bill of sale but no title. We wer able to register the camper and obtain a Florida title with just a bill of sale. In your case, you may have to generate a bill of sale, or find one somewhere. There were a few forms that we had to fill out which I found on the state's website. One was a vin verification form and I had to have an police officer come out and sign. I also had to take it and get her weighed.

Have you checked with your local DMV? They would know the latest process in your state.

LayoCaro, I recently did this in CA. I bought a trailer from someone who had purchased it from someone else without a title (and never registered it). For the DMV, I had to provide
1. A bill of sale
2. A DMV form (can't recall the exact #. I'm on the road now and can figure it out this weekend upon my return)
3. Verification of the VIN. This can be done at the DMV, of can be performed by a peace officer (documented on an additional DMV form)

A first, I thought the process would be difficult, but once the DMV understood my situation, it was quite quick and easy.
