mane,

Congratulations and welcome to the forums. We've found the folks here extremely helpful and willing to share their experience. We saw a significant improvement in the outcome of our most recent project a '68 Overlander versus our first project a '64 Safari due to these forums. Here's a link to our thread on the '68; https://www.airforums.com/forums/f39...er-155180.html , if your interested.

The project phase can be a lot of fun, keep reading, thinking, planning and moving forward, and please, keep us posted on your progress.

Enjoy!

Roy and Marie

There is a place reserved in Paradise for those that take old, unloved Airstreams and get them back on the road again!

I'll be watching

I too picked up a 1963 Overlander this summer! Unloved and unmoved for decades. Mine had been sitting in a puddle and ( like yours?) was under some pine trees. That first bath was so rewarding. Now the ugly part. I'm down to the rusty backend frame. Expected, but still sobering. Can't wait to watch your progress.

Thanks guys, I am anxious to get going. Its tough finding the time, we just had our first baby who is now 9 months. He take a lot of time =).

So far I'm about 10 hours in, here are some progress photos. If anyone needs anything out of this let me know. I have been saving some stuff just in case.

I also think I'm pretty fortunate in that there doesn't seem to be a lot of rot anywhere, and where I can see the frame its not too bad. Might not have to do a ton of work on it. We'll see.
