Not a stupid question - it's a bunk bed. And yes, you need to be on the lean side to use it, but it's sleepable. We'll most likely use it to store guitar cases

I'd think mirrored glass would be very interesting in an area like yours without a lot of tree cover. Your drummer may not be able to find the door though...

Just thought of one more thing- Can you see through the trailer when towing? If you had mirrored windows would you still be able to see through the trailer? Does this matter?

The only window under consideration for the disco treatment is the back window so i don't think it would impact being able to see through the trailer (from the front). Actually that may be moot anyway as the front window will have a smokey rock guard.
As to how the resto has gone, I'll post up some pics soonish. The upholstery is still pending (bolts of fabric in dining room now). We kept the same basic layout - mostly; but made several changes. We've reused or repurposed the interior cabinets where ever possible and it will still be recognizable as an overlander. The toilet and toilet surround has undergone a substantial reconfiguring however and the front lounge area has been changed to an L shaped couch and removable pedestal mount table.
System-wise, there's a gray tank added, new systems all around and the undercarriage has been redone.
The mirrored glass thing is a big unknown and an expensive experiment if it rots. Could be good fun in a busy area though watching folks primp from inside....

More updates and some interior pics... We still have a few odds and ends to wrap up. Trim and molding is still MIA but it's coming together.
Here's some shots of the living area.
We reconfigured, cutting the streetside lower jalousie window in half (patching both inside and outside) and there's a removable pedestal table. The window was shortened so that we could extend seating under it and not lean into a pane of glass.
An interesting find was that teak stool - it's technically a shower seat but works nicely as a coffee table, additional chair and can be set outside in wet grass. A great 5 dollar yard sale find.
The pedestal table that fits into the aft closet (trim missing on base still). The table seats 4, using the teak stool and adding a couple of folding chairs on the kitchen side would increase seating to 6 (cozy).

The bathroom provided numerous challenges. We rebuilt it - twice. The old toilet was original and the fiberglass "bench' was intact. Still, even after we got the toilet functional and replaced the plumbing, it was clear that it wouldn't be satisfactory; there was just no way to properly clean around the toilet. The second major concern was that the electrical panel, batteries and all the plumbing were located at the very back of the trailer (under the fiberglass bench ), and exposed to the elements. Electrical and plumbing all located together - seemed like a bad idea so we redid it again.
We cut out the bench (waiting for the lightning bolt), moved the batteries up under the curbside bed (added compartment and exterior door), we moved the electrical panel into the bathroom closet where it could be accessed from the inside and away from water and rerouted all plumbing. All lines were replaced (as was electrical) and a new panel added. Fresh water tank is located under street-side bed as well as the inverter and water pump.
This trailer had a magazine rack by the front door (in the way) and we moved it to the bathroom; where it's actually useful. The tub and sink were reglassed after being altered and finally we added a gray tank - not very big but 15 gals beats nothing at all. New sealand toilet and new faucets. If I had this to do again, I would pass on the sprayer model.
We're still missing some trim and the shower curtain track in this area but you get the idea...

On the exterior we made some changes as well. We added electrical power, a lockable bucket fill for water (came off a seventies Argosy) along with a regular city water fill faucet connection and did some patches.
There were 5 antennas on the outside and 5 holes cut through the skins and so we had to patch these and along with the streetside window patch (we cut that lower window in half to accommodate interior seating) and patches for the large holes left by the old furnace and hot water heater, the trailer looked a whole lot like an aluminum patchwork quilt before it was polished.
One of the antenna holes was so large that we opted to put a second scare light in - it faces dead forward and illuminates the propane tanks (handy to change tanks in the dark)

We still have some details to work on - we'll need new awnings all around, there are latches missing still and trim in many places. Gary made a new bumper box that still needs some adjustment. But we've finally camped in this Overlander and it's amazing - so much space!
After new systems, new axles, new windows, loads of parts, tanks, fans, plumbing and a polish job I've been wondering if it would be about the same cost as new.
Tonight's project is getting the Humphrey lamp re-installed - the hard mantles have finally arrived via UPS!
