Measurement - Space between twin beds

We are putting the beds back into our 61 Overlander after a near complete gutting... What is the measurement between the twin beds? (Creating the walkway) We are looking for the width of the walkway. Thanks!!

The walkway on our '59 isn't square. I know this from making a Superbed, which bridges the walkway to occasionally make a full width bed.

Ours is 22" wide in the front and 22 3/4" in the rear.

Just in time! I'm taking out my twins from my 1963 Overlander. Looks like I have some wooden brackets for upper bunks. Would you like them? I will go and measure. Photos too if you need them.

I converted the queen to twins in our 27 FC.

The space between was dictated by the width of the beds. A standard twin is 38" wide.

Our mattresses were custom due to the rounded corners, but standard sheets still fit.

Much narrower and they would be like sleeping on a couch.

Regards,

JD

If your twins are like my 57, don't forget to take the toe kick recess into account. I assume your measuring for flooring.

Measurement between twin beds

I had to replace some of the flooring in the rear of our 93 Excella Classic, which necessitated removing the twin beds. I desperately wanted to reuse the floating floor which I carefully removed and was able to reinstall. Nothing was square before I started and the same when I finished. Also made new beds with piston lifts. So, I remembered that when the nightstand was in, I had EXACTLY enough room to store four 12 packs of soda between the nightstand and the end table. That is how I put it together and if its off now, its off inside a compartment and not the living area. (Can store two 12 packs on each side and they do not move from there.) Maybe a little unorthodox bit it worked well.

We are also making good progress on a total rebuild of our '64 Overlander. I allowed for 76" long and 31" wide. Is have to measure when I get home, but I think that gives us 22-24" for the "passageway" (hall/walkway).
