The last of the 110V details required me to knock off the basic AVI panel. The jury is still out on using a swing arm Television mount, if the verdict is "yes", it will bolt to the left side of the 110V outlet.
The list gets closer and closer to woodworking...

It's Electrifying
The 110 V stuff is done, and it went fast...
I really enjoyed working with all new stuff...I did recycle the breaker box but it wasn't very old, new breakers were installed.
I'll install the 12V fusebox in the next few days.

Vernon,
This project is really coming along! BTW, I would be reluctant to use a swinging arm television mount because if the TV leaves its "stowed position" near the wall, the mass of the TV would be on a fairly long arm. However, the swinging arm would be nice about positioning it where you want it for viewing.

Wow! What progress I'm totally green .. Just a few questions as usual LOL what are u planning to do with the fiberglass end caps now that you've decided not to paint (right?). And how will you cover the gap in the center of the ceiling? Inquiring minds want to know..... Are you happy with how the skins went in and what would u do differently?
Love it, you are one of my "must click on threads" !!

Yeah, ya noticed ...as of NOW, the center gap will be covered by a strip of matching Cherry...possibly inlayed with LED's...
End caps...still working that one, BUT the leading choice is something like the new 'Streams...speckle paint? How's the progress coming at Colins? ('green with envy face' inserted here)

Steve, the 'hole' AVI panel thing came from a need to cover a really ugly vent...and a bit of envy of my Pal's $1/4M RV with the outside Television . IF I hang an arm, it will only be while we are parked...the only need for an arm is to hike the TV from behind the door (when it's open)!

Sometimes you are REQUIRED to recycle...
The tub P trap was in pretty bad shape so I figured heck, I'll just replace it...guess what? No short P traps are available in my area. Luckly I was able to find a split nut and get the original stuff working.
Oh yeah, I'm doing plumbing now. The gray tank is installed, holes cut in the floor and a large inventory of odd shaped PVC fittings have been purchased...keep our fingers crossed...me and plumbing, we ain't the best of friends

Oh, I missed a photo! The bath drains are roughed in and tied to the gray tank, vents have been re-fit. The original walls were dug out of storage, set in place and will be marked for use as templates.

Hey Vernon,
Me again! . I know I heard on The Vap not to long ago that it's common to reuse that tub drain because it's hard to find! I think it was Tim who was bemoaning the fact that he had POR 15'd the outside of it but not the inside so sometimes if the tub drain backed up or drained too slowly he got rust/sediment in the tub. You might want to POR it!
On a closer look yours look like brass? In which case ignore this as brass won't rust!
Another question of course! . Do I see the tub drain pipes above the floor? Running in front of where the tub would be, along with the vanity sink drain. How would that work? My tub drain is below the floor. I'm confused ?

Hey Shelly,
yeah, mine is brass and I'm relieved it was in good shape except for one nut. With the new 'split nut' I'm good to go!
Routing...my original (well, the way it was when I got it... ) had the tub drain into the P trap and loop back above the floor, cross under the sink then dive thru the floor about in the middle of the trailer. Once below the floor, it required a huge hole cut into the street side frame rails to get to the dump valve..I didn't like that part of the big hole/frame...
So yes, I'm running it forward (about the same distance it originally went across) and dumping straight into the top of the tank.
The original sink drain went toward the tub, under the lip and forward into the curb side closet, tied into the vent and then went down, reversing it's route under the tub at floor level and finally tying into the tub drain just before diving thru the floor!
Oh yeah, I had to create an insulated box below the tub P trap, didn't want it hanging into the belly pan and freezing!

Yuck...more plumbin'
I liked the brass inlet but have no intention of using a pressurized tank, so the inlet is getting reconfigured. My tank is moving...it will be under the dinette...and as it just so happens...there is a puncture in the skin EXACTLT where the new inlet needs to go...
I cut off the old brass fill tube (which says "P Revere Red Brass" and polished up really nice!!!) and will epoxy it into the outer trim ring. First I'm sealing the joint with Vulcum so the epoxy doesnt run everywhere...

I used that on a bathtub in the house. Tried it twice, lots of sanding in between. Lousy results.
Don't bother with trying the brush, apparently the only way to get a smooth coat is to spray.
I gave up and had a pro do it; what a difference!
ps: what's the flush mount plug for?

Aage,
Thanks for the feedback...I have a $20 gravity feed sprayer that is now going to sacrifice itself for the project...spraying will be the way I go!
"Flush plug" is a city water inlet to replace the 5' of old garden hose, clamped to a swollen piece of previous frozen copper pipe that served as the previous city water connection...

It's cold outside so I'm back to working in the garage. Time for cabinets...I layed out the cuts and sliced 3 cherry boards, I have enough for the bath and kitchen fronts. The main structure will be pine. I needed to scarf joint some pieces into longer sections, got that drying right now.
I've never had the chance to work with cherry...the grain is so fine it's like MDF...
If the sun warms us up tomorrow, I will spray epoxy paint on the tub and plane the Cherry to the proper thuckness.

More stuff done on the "day time" list...
I needed to move my power inlet, it's location wasn't ideal...rain water pours off of the awning and would run directly onto the inlet... . I moved it just rear of the water heater. The city water connection went into the empty hole. Of course the water connection was a tiny bit too small so I had to make a patch...
The water fill is now located in the front street side (where a big dent was), the water tank will be under the dinette. The brass tube is going to polish up nice.
I sprayed the tub and brushed the toilet stand...they came out lookin pretty good in Ivory color.
I also pulled the door skins...its easier to replce them than clean off all of the paint...SURPRISE! the Bargman lockset has a sticker...Made in China!!!

Today was supposed to be easy...reskin the door. Figured I'd chek out the China Bargman L-100 before reinstalling and found all of the screws were loose...for a REASON! If the were tight the dang thing jammed up... ...so i spent several HOURS getting it to work properly. I did get the door done.

nice work on the fill tube! Are you going to to plug the old air valve hole on it or use it as a vent? Our fill tube is aluminum unfortunately, and fairly pitted. With your set up at least the fill line can flex with the hose rather than rigid to the tank. We resealed the inside of our original tank but know that joint you sealed and will epoxy will forever be prone to water leaks and thus checked often. Your attention to detail is inspiring!

Thanks for the feedback Scott, so I see you are looking for oven parts...that stinks! I figured you had everything lined up for your '63, I guess you can't expect these old thing to cut us a break...I'll let ya know what I end up doing with mine...
Fill tube vent...ya know, I think I'm gonna leave the Schroeder Valve body in place, remove the stem and insert a small mesh to keep out the bugs...it will still LOOK like an air valve...
Yeah, all of the epoxy will hopefully hold the stuff in place, a flex line should keep the forces at bay...

I thought I was home free on the stove, but I think I have a lead on the oven part, will hopefully hear back tomorrow. Looking for a good chrome shop now to redo the trim and stove top for it. Burners work awesome, it's all repiped and reinsulated, just down to the little details and that dang valve. Lots of help from Reinergirl!!! If you end up short any small 63 pieces, particularly lighting let me know I ended up taking apart a totaled 63 ambassador shell a few years ago to get some parts for my 63 and to help out another guy with a 63 as well. Screen is a real good idea. I have mine set up with the air pump still, but also have an inline pump set up in there in case it fails when we're dry camping. Pretty cool system as long as the o-ring on the cap seals, that was the key for us. Lived off the pressure tank for 4 days on the first outing. It's great watching your progress!
