We spotted another Vintage Airstream in the other side of the campground, I understand its a '63 also, a short unit. Gonna try and meet the owner today. A nice couple is a few spots down in a new-to-them Bambi. They have a pair of border collies so Mac has friends! Speaking of Mac, his job is to bring into Dolly every sand spur that is within 100' of our site. I must say he is doing an outstanding job. (Ouch!)

We stopped on the way into the campground, Mrs HiHo snapped a few photos and I played with them on the iPad.

Dolly is back home, stowed away under the RV shed. We did 7 nights through Mobile Ala, Pensacola Beach and Bay St Louis MS for 775 miles with no suprises. Mrs HiHo and I are happy with the interior layout, the decision to go with an overhead shelf instead of a cabinet was a good one. As soon as we arrive in a campground and begin unstowing everything, all of the flat surfaces start to become cluttered. With the shelf, we have a place for hadbags, hats, cameras and other assorted junk without is cluttering the table and dresser.

Oh, 16 MPG didn't upset us either!

Shhhh. Don't tell Mr. After a week long vacation of relaxing, eating just about everything in sight, and a few toddys to boot, I didn't lose one single pound. I started my diet (yet again) today and had every intention of coming home after work and starting my workout.... I had to check the mail first of course. So here I sit in my workout clothes lounging on the sofa reading the latest edition of Airstream Life. He won't be home for a little bit as he's visiting a friend who is new to Airstreamin (long story). Maybe I can get it read cover to cover, do the workout and make dinner before he gets back.

They are individually sized and thus a bit more expensive than off the shelf. So far we are very happy with them.

I'm sure Sarah will have a comment about a see-food diet but I do have to toss out a pitch for Shaggy's food. If anyone has the chance to eat at Shaggy's (MS coast and Pensacola Beach), order the crawfish nachos. They are shockingly good. We really enjoyed the food and company.

It's been a while since we have done any work on Dolly, been tied up on another project. I needed to fix the dresser drawers that had no catch to keep them closed. Up until now, we jammed cushions between the dresser and the bed. Functional but a pain.

WoodenRivet passed along some really cool catches and for the life of me I couldn't find a away to make them work with my drawer design. I ran across these little magnetic jewels at Woodcrafter (me thinks). The install wasn't too bad, blind location at the rear of the drawer made things screwy.

They are now installed and I will say that the claim of approx 20 lbs of holding strength must be in a laboratory...they do make a very nick 'click' when they seat.

I'm gonna give a try adjusting them...after we go camping! (July camping in the south =15,000BTU's of FUN!)

Please do update after your trip! We are having a similar problem with our dresser drawers and have been trying to come up with a solution. Will be interested in whether these work.

I hope that you have a great camping trip! On adjusting the latched, is there any way that you could make either the magnet or the steel part "float" loosely, say about 1/4". That way the adjustment and alignment aren't critical and the face of the magnet and steel can have full body contact (albeit with no exchange of bodily fluids)!

Steve, thats exactly what I'm planning. I'm 99% sure I have the steel disk aligned perfect in the up/down-left/right axis but it may be slightly tilted. I'm going to loosen the single screw that holds it on so that the disk can lean as needed. I'm sure that everyone is aware that nothing in these trailers allows for square fit-up.

Things are already better. The drawer roller slides are so frictionless that if the trailer has the smallest amount of street-side-low unlevel, simply walking inside would vibrate the drawers open. The magnets solved that problem!

Well the drawers were closed when we arrived. Dunno if they opened and re-closed in transit.

The water heater drain valve is leaking, dang 50 year old stuff just doesn't hold up anymore...;0)

The weather is nice, 90 with low humidity and a breeze, the campground is on a huge reservoir so we brought the boat and spent a few hours riding.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend!

Yes, Woodcraft carries the magnetic catches. They also carry 10 lb and 40 lb versions. I was thinking maybe two 40 lb catches per drawer so we get a good arm workout every time we want to change clothes.

Plus, it might cut down on laundry as an added bonus...
