Yummm!!! Gotta love the crawdaddies. Sadly, we don't have fresh ones here, but every couple of years I order some live ones shipped up from New Orleans. I just got some rare earth magnets at a flea market to make a knife holder. I'm hoping I can leave them on while traveling & they won't fly off! I love mine at home. I like your rock guard too...nice!

Well lets see...wax, a Meguirs that seems to leave a cloud, or that's my theory on why my polish job never seems to look better!
Mud bug, yup a local term for crawfish. I like cooking them myself because most of the prepared ones use dry spice after boiling, it just doesn't taste the same. They are in season now and the size is perfect!
Let's see, today I built a holder for the stinky slinky. I had to mount the tube in front of the wheels, too much stuff behind them for it to fit.
I'm considering ordering one of those 8" tall Coleman air conditioning systems.the antenna is a hybrid, the main system is off of a newer crank up. I still haven't mounted the one the Top got me.

Dolly made her first Rally appearance last weekend - Two Weeks from Anywhere in Ruston. She did just fine but we noted that her camping season was quickly coming to an end unless...
The new MACH 8 15,000 btu arrived today! Ordered Monday from PPL, the truck dropped it off just now.
I posted some of my issues on Lewsters thread with having ordered the wrong P/N and RVP's quick customer service. The needed parts actually arrived quicker than the airconditioner. FYI...make sure and order a MACH 8 that has the condensate pump...

Vernon,
Good luck with the install. Please let us know how well 15000 btu's do in that sort-of-warm climate of yours.
Great work. Still plan on coming by to see you one of these winters!

Nice, Vernon. That looks low profile, is it?
John-- my 15K does really well down here in Central Texas. Only a couple of times has it not been able to keep up, once it hits 110 or so there's just not much of a chance.

All I was gonna do was remove the vent screen and look in the ceiling for the wiring and drain tubing to see if was still where I left it, that was all I was gonna do.
Then I figured I really needed to remove the vent so I could see better, that's all I'm gonna do today...
Well, I might as well trace the profile so I'm ready to cut the wood tomorrow. But I might as well cut out the cardboard.
Humm, there is a nice piece of cyprus and I could trace the curve onto it, then I'm done for the day.
It won't take but a minute to bandsaw the wood, so what the heck...
Of course I need to see if they fit...
Since they are already in the right spot, I could add the screws and tape them..
but THAT'S ALL I'M GONNA DO TODAY...
I wonder if that condensate pump is easy to install...it's only 4 screws to remove the AC Cover...

I'll get started on the deck right now. But first I want to check out one small thing on Dolly. Well, I guess I could load the AC unit on the tractor. Since its in the bucket I'll just set it on the roof. Really, I'm about to start on the deck.
Well, it's on the roof and there are only 4 bolts to hold it down, I might as will install them...

OMG, that was so fast! You make it look easy, but I'm certain there was much more to it. That low profile looks good on there too.
Is that white on top something you painted on? I'm wondering if it's the same thing on the top of our '99 Safari? I imagine that would help to keep it cooler inside.

Actually, it was just about that easy. The hard part was hooking up the wire inside my breaker box. It seems I didn't do it when I was wiring. Now I remember that I didn't want to take a chance of the breaker getting turned on and having a hot wire banging around in the ceiling.
It's all done and running!

How is the noise level and how did the shape fit the ceiling curves?
Great and fast job!

I'm VERY happy with how it fit the curves. I like the look with the possible exception of a rear quarter view (like I posted last time). The MACH 8 LOOKS wider because it's so dang short.
The interior noise is very quiet on low fan, high fan is about the same as all of the other RV AC units I've heard. Yup, the outside fan seems to be louder than my dometics but I wouldn't say it's obnoxious. Inside the trailer, I can't hear the outside fan.
Oh, the white on the roof is a elastermeric (sp) roof coating, it helps seal the 50 year old rivets and also keeps things cooler.
ALANSD, mine had an AC in the center, I stuck in a vent until I could spring for a new AC.

Vernon, thanks for all of the information -- so glad to hear you like your new Mach 8, and looking forward to ordering one for us (I'll make certain it has the pump already installed). I'll do a search on elastermeric to see where to buy and how to apply, glad to hear it also helps seal the rivets.
Thanks again.
