As someone who has had retina surgery, I agree with Steve & Mrs HiHo. But, I just have to ask, did the surgeon use buck rivets or olympic rivets to reattach your retina?

Get some rest, listen to "The VAP", there is plenty of time before next spring's camping trips.

I believe it was Vulcum.... With this bubble floating around in my eye, I'm a human level. I can sit in the camper and tell tell which way it's leaning by comparing the floor to the bubble...

I'm trying to be good...I'm just not real good at it.

Today I did the window frames. The original frames were kinda forced to fit to the wall, and not a very good job of doing it. Instead of forming the frames to fit the curve of the shell, I decided to cut some cherry spacers.

It's a small detail that pulls together the raw aluminum and the warmth of the cherry cabinets.

With all of that said...the main reason I used the cherry was the fact that the local Harbor Freight didn't have a metal strecher in stock...

The next time I'm in the area...

Todays photo has been 5+ weeks in the making...Mrs HiHo ordered funky wavy glass for the endcap compartment doors and it took forever to get it.

I was waiting to post a photo so her endcap paint job would be nicely framed by the glass. She did a rag paint that looks great! I tossed in some rope lights since I haven't yet ordered the LED strips...

Very nice job! Mrs HiHo did great, that's a great job on the rag painting, it can be very difficult to get it looking even. I like the warmth of the color. Is it real glass or plexi?

Vernon, I really admire that glass you put in! It has a really classy look to it.

Was it hard to cut to the opening shape, or did you get the supplier to do that for you?

Yeah, thats real glass. We looked for acrylic but never could find anything so she ordered them cut at a local glass shop. I provided wooden patterns and expected the wavy stuff to go up-and-down but I'm really glad they cut it sideways. In hind sight, I guess that forgetting to specify a direction actually worked out good.

We will get two more cut to go above the kitchen. As of now, all of the remaining lockers will be shelves with no doors.

Just make sure to specify the direction for the next set-- that's where it's important

Thats a good point...for the first set there was 0% chance that they wouldn't match...this time it 'should' be 50% but history shows it would be 100% chance of it not matching unless I specify...

I've been making an effort to get back into the work-on-Dolly-even-if-its-dark mode...I hate this time of the year when the sun has set by the time I get home from work...

Anyway, We got the closets done, the over-the-kitchen cabinet is roughed in. A new cabinet grade plywood kitchen counter is cut and installed. The bath sink is mounted and the drain is plumbed. The kitchen sink is likewise done, just not glued.

So here is the "Question"...I would REALLY like to omit the vent for the kitchen sink. The drain is down hill all of the way to the tank, but...I'm dumping the plumbing into the drain side of the gray tank. Even with a "P" trap, I'm guessin that the sink will burp when the sink drain is opened. Thoughts? I don't want a face full of dish water when I open the drain.

Just remember...me and plumbing, we don't like each other....

You would just be putting in a studor vent right? Why don't you want to use one?

Vernon - it has been suggested that I consider the Hepvo valve Hepvo Waterless Valve - which I understand can eliminate the line vent...I think I'm going to try them..but why don't you try it for me first and then I can see how it works

The gray water system is done...both sinks and the tub hold water and drain into the tank. So far, no leaks.

Tonight I constructed one of the two ceiling lamps. It's a HomeDepot elcheapo fixture that I gutted and installed LED strips. 72 lights in two circuits so if I want I can have high and low. I think it's about $1 of led's...

Apparently, your eye surgery came out well. Such small, delicate wiring! I copped out & bought some. I'm sure yours will be nicer, though!

Vernon, I like that you made a high and low circuit...very ingenious! Were did you buy the strip of LEDs? I'm looking for some like yours that are rated at 12V so that I can wire strips in parallel. I'd like to get some that are rated for indoor use and some others that are rated for outdoor/weather exposure use.

The small wires are actually pretty easy to attach. When they were all soldered, I added a gob of silicone to each one, somewhere in the middle, to keep vibration from breaking the joints. The eye doc is just now getting me released with no restrictions. I will wait a few weeks, then go get new glasses, hopefully I can get back to 20-20.

I bought them off of Amazon. They shipped from China, it took 2 1/2 weeks.

I may rewire the lamp to go 20/80% instead of 50/50% on the low/hi split. I got it installed today and so far, I'm pretty pleased...1 more to go!

I riveted a 2 1/2 wide strip down the center of the ceiling to cover the gap. I had tried some types of aluminum forms, intending to have a center section with indirect lighting. Everything I tried looked horrible. The curved aluminum roof just didn't look right with a break in the center, the simple alumimum arch looks best by it's self.
