Still riveting the interior. I figure I'm between 1/3 and 1/2 of the way thru...kinda fun...I'm smokin' thru rivets...

500 pop rivets gone, second box has been opened, and that's just on the INTERIOR! I figure I did 300 or so in the belly pan, close to 500 buck rivets around the shell-to-floor...I now have one HECK of a firm handshake...

A follow-up to a few posts back...I AM placing the insulation between the inner skins and the ribs...so far, so good.

Wow that's a lot of rivets! I am looking at about the same. I am still bucking the outer shell and pop riveting the last few rivets on the belly pan. Please tell me you are useing an air riveter.

Well, I have a pnemat...pneu...air riveter but the only place I'ved used it was on some of the bellypan. I always seem to be thinkin' I'll use the hand tool because "I'll Just do a Couple of Rivets"...and end up doing a bunch.

I'll share a funny...I towed Dolly to work on Friday, I was leaving from there and headed to camp...when I arrived at work, one of my 2 remaining crappy baby moon hubcaps was gone. I was bummed because at least ONE side didn't look completely redneck. Now both sides were hubcapless. I checked in with Mrs. HiHo later that night and she said there was a baby moon hubcap laying in our driveway...

Anyway, scheming to cover up "Ugly" The old lamp holes in the end caps are ugly...how about some pivot spots mounted in aluminum 'details'?

How about Wally's Shrine? As much time as I'm spending out there, Mrs. HiHo probably thinks I'm having some sort of religious experience (or an affair)

Anyway...

Today I needed a rib...(flashbacks to HeeHaw...Hey Grandpa, Whats for supper?)

A few photos of how to make a false rib...It starts with a cardboard template...

For the outer fold, the metal tries to shrink (unsuccessfully) so ya' really need to notch it...and a rubber hammer works better than the plastic one I used...

It Fits!

Actually I'm good now. Since I'm sandwiching insulation between the ribs and the panels, the rivets make a divit. I only needed a fake rib so the fake rivet line would match divits...

more fun tonight...waaaaay back in post #9
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f109...tml#post917471
I noted a couple of switches...I disliked the location and hated the switch style...not much I could do for a better location but I can change the switches...rockers! The one for the Scare Light is even back lit with a cool logo!

On Edit...I know, I know...I need new screws

I do appreciate the complements...progress is being made on several fronts...that is a good thing...as I get bored with one task I can jump to another!

110V Electrical is +-75% done. Most of the outlets are installed, all of the splice boxes are complete. On the 12V side, some interior lights are online and the Scare light is functional. Tonight I installed a small chrome tag light above the entrance door, it's awesum.

Interior colors are coming together (photo attached). I still have to select cloth (UGGG! I hate that part!)

The excel spreadsheet is loosing big items and gaining detail -
Night time stuff-
Strip the window hardware
Insulate/install wheel well covers
Build AVI panel
Add step light
reskin the door
Cut/epoxy the tub P trap hole
Epoxy the Gray tank support
Epoxy the floor seams
Install battery box/vents

Daytime stuff-
Relocate Gray tank 6" curb direction
Move power inlet
Build window frames
Build/install water inlet and fill
Finish dump trim
Refinish Tub/toilet stand
--------------then comes woodworking...

Ya notice that nowhere did I include "prime and paint the interior"?

Yeah!!!! No Paint!! Great Progress, as usual. My house (the real one) is engulfed in a thick layer of dust due to some remodeling, so my project is on hold for a little while. Love watching your project (and a bit jealous, I may add!). Love your colors!
