Hi Everyone,
I have found a place for the December campout that I believe offers something for everyone. Here are the details:
Dates: December 7/8 - 10
Here is a link to the Recreation.gov site:
https://www.recreation.gov/camping/y...O&parkId=71510
Corps of Engineers Park (senior pass accepted)
Location: Somerville Lake (near Somerville, TX)
CG: Yegua Creek (pronounced Yay-wah)
Sites: I suggest sites 14-41 as these sites appear to be in their own loop (I just reserved site 19 for Cynthia and I).
Electric/Water available
Note that this camp ground is still closed until the end of October but I have been assured that it will be reopened on November 1.
This is a 3+/- hour trip for those of us in the hill country and should be a little less for others. We are trying to be accommodating to as many folks as possible.
Things to do in the area include Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham, antique shopping in Round Top and the Bush Presidential library in College Station. If you are able to come please let me know your site # and date of arrival for planning purposes.
More to come…
