Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything. We had to stop our restoration project last March as our 8 year old got seriously ill. Gladly, he is doing better and now that the holidays are over, and now that I've booked campsites for 2011, it's time to get going.
The frame is done and the plywood subfloor is in. We've started reattaching our shell to the floor. We've hired a helper to get things going, so I'm hoping the flooring can be put in soon. We're hiring a flooring expert (neighbor who has his own flooring installation business) to put in the yellow VCT that I got at Home Depot (special order).
I've primed the inside skins. I tried to clean them up, but really, they didn't look good. Oil-based primer stuck just fine, so I can pick up the roller anytime and paint the upper skins (which are still attached to the AS) and wait on the lower ones until they're installed.
My brother in law is a master plumber/electrician and will be hired next to start with the plumbing and electrical. Countertops are in the works with a countertop installer. We choose Blue boomerang (again Home Depot) and I found aluminum edging from our local lumber center through MD-Products. I'm having the fold up table done withe the boomerang as well.
Next week the couch and fabric goes to the upholsterer.
I've finally realized that we don't have the time to learn how to do this all ourselves and it's best to enlist some help.
I'll post pictures as we move along!
