Rat in airstream

My son went to Ohio taking my 25' airstream. A week after he got their he heard a scratching sound under the floor. He set traps and about 2 weeks later caught a rat by the hot water heater. He put steel wool in any small hole that a rodent could enter the trailer. He still hears scratching. What should he do?
