Don't Mess With Ethel ('78 Sovereign Renovation)

A few months back I was searching for my "project". Mrs Taylormade and I had enjoyed camping in our pop-up camper for three years and used it at least a dozen times each year.
I purchased the biggest pop up made and it had all the luxuries a pop up could afford... and it still wasn't enough. Every time we'd walk through a campground, the shine and mystique of the aluminum would call out to us.
In Florida, Airstreams (especially Sovereigns) are a dime a dozen and most are relatively cheap. I'd driven a few hours in each direction and had settled on one that was really ready to use and was a great price. I'd struck a deal and told the guy I'd be back in the morning with cash when my phone rang.
It was a lady who'd listed an Airstream on CL. The price was a little high but it was on the way home so I thought I should check it out.
When I got there, I noticed that the body was in mint condition. There were no dings, dents, tears, anything to speak of. "Uh oh" I thought. It was $1000 more than the one I'd decided on already but when I drove off (after telling her I wasn't interested but best of luck!), something spoke to me. For whatever reason, this was "our Airstream" and I knew it.
I called and offered a "half way" deal and the owners accepted it. We were on our way to being Airstreamers!!
We didn't have to wait long for our adventure to begin....
