Life in the Slow Lane - Kamloops, BC

The drive from Valemount was very scenic. We followed a river the whole way and there were many vistas to see. Turns out we were on the Yellowhead Highway and not the highway thru hell. It was a bit challenging because the speeds for regular cars was the highest we had seen. We maintained our 65mph.
Once we got set up in our campsite we went to explore the town. We were looking for a place to eat. The news had said the town had received an exceptional amount of rain and hadflooded the day before. The water had receded but you could see crews driving about working on cleanup.
Kamloops was bigger than we expected it to be and much prettier. The town straddles a river and extends up both sides of a valley. We ultimately found a Red Robin. Our waitress was very friendly and asked where we were from. I guess our accents gave us away. She asked about Texas, saying that is one place that she really wants to visit.
Our campground was unremarkable. It was on the side of the highway, kind of down the side of a hill. We were only staying for one night so it was okay. The next morning we noticed the "for sale" sign as we pulled out onto the highway. This time we really are headed down the highway thru hell...
