'69 Sovereign - Starting on the Interior

My grandparents bought this trailer new, and traveled with it for decades. I have so many childhood memories of visiting them in the mountains in this trailer.

After they passed, it sat in the Texas sun for years and became a rodent-disneyland.

I now live in Washington with a place to park it and work on it. This is all very new to me, but it is work that comes from the heart because of the family history.

I am in the process now of gutting the interior and assessing the condition of things. My challenges at the moment are:
1. unspeakable quantities of rodent mess
2. why on earth did they install the carpet UNDER everything?
3. I have no idea how to cut away and remove the subfloor where there is rot. At the moment I've only found some under the freshwater tank pump, and some where the refrigerator was, both fairly small spots. However, I have not yet unraveled the bathroom, and of course since there is carpet under the entire bathroom, I can't see much until I do.
