Our Airstream Life Begins

So why would anyone want an Airstream? We have been camping for close to 30 years in all types of units: pop-ups, travel trailers and a Bounder motorhome. Our introduction to Airstreams happened about 25 years ago at a campground in Gettysburg, PA. While setting up camp, our young son and daughter came running back to inform us that there were "hotdog" trailers in another part of the campground. Upon investigation, we found a group of about 20 airstreams gathered together for a weekend of camping. Perhaps it was that occasion that brought on the interest. Now here 25 years later, we are the owners of a "78" Ambassador. The intention was to clean it up and go camp...but like many on the forums we have undertaken our own renovations to make it ours. And as they say...the rest is history. This blog will be a record of our step into Airstream life.
