Jumped back onto the William H. Natcher Parkway, nearly to Owensboro, then NE on US 231 and crossed the mighty Ohio near Maseo, KY. The William H. Natcher bridge is an amazing architectural wonder. The ominous view of what I thought was a nuclear facility on the Indiana side… turns out to be the Rockport Power Plant (coal-fired). Followed US 231 north. Lots of little towns… Huntingburg, Jasper, Loogootee, Bloomfield, Freedom, Spencer, Greencastle, Fincastle, Crawfordsville, Romney, Young America, Galveston, Miami, Bunker Hill… missed all the big ones Total of 292 miles. This Recreation Area is quite nice and HUGE! Originally a Corps of Engineers park, there are about 389 sites! There were only TWO of us camping! The weather is cooling down and we are running ahead of an approaching storm front. One night and out early. I had to go into the office and offer them money. Water was shut off. Early in the season… but they're open all year!
