Continued north on US 231 to Blountstown. We drove through many little towns Wetumpka, Sylacauga, Pell City, Ashville, Oneonta, Cleveland, Blountsville & Arab, to name a few. Total of 220 miles… took us 6 1/2 hours! The way was windy and wet. Drizzled off and on all day. Monte Sano State Park sits on a mountain (?) right on the edge of Huntsville, 1650 feet up. Full hook-ups, sewer if you want it. We opted for electric again, the nights are getting down to about 40º. We decided to 'hunker down' until Sunday… wait out the weekend and the rain. Weather should improve… but looks like more rain to the north as we continue our drive home. Sat around and read for two days. The weather was beautiful! The place was nutty for the warm week-end with lots of local tenters and families… but still not half full. Out site was on the outer edge of the campground… looking out over the lights of Huntsville… kinda lovely.
