Last Entry for This Trip ! !

DAY 52 - Fri Sep 17 2010
Sunny morning, with hi's in the low 80's today. No rain last night. Rolling east again on I-55 North. We spotted an Airstream on I-55, they were heading south - towed by a black truck. They didn't wave or blink.
We stopped in Chestnut Illinois at an antique store, then went for lunch across the street. Chestnut is the geographical center of Illinois, complete with a noon-time whistle. There were lots of probably corn elevators and lots of trucks coming and going in the small village. We continued on to Farmer City and stopped at an antique store and several yard sales. The town was having a town-wide sale weekend. We crossed the Indiana state line about 4PM but with time change it was really 5PM.
We spotted a newer Airstream that pulled into the store we were at in Kentland IN, and we honked, and he waved back.
We were trying to find a campground around Elkhart IN, and the GPS took us to the Prairie Campground. Once we got there we realized that it was a church camp, and so we carried on US 20 to find another park. We decided to head to Shipshewana because we knew there was a park there, but it was still 25 miles away. We stopped at a gas station and they directed us to a KOA near Bristol. We finally got set up by 9:30PM and decided on simple hot dogs for dinner. Early to bed.
DAY 53 - Sat Sep 18 2010
Cool and overcast morning with scattered showers and hi's in the low 70's today.
Rolling by 10:30AM, and stopped at the RV and Motorhome Museum in Elkhart IN. This was our second visit to the museum and we were once again dazzled and amazed at the beautiful vintage trailers in that place. We saw a couple of trailers that we would LOVE to have. We can dream.
We got away from the museum by 12:30PM, heading to Camp Dearborn in Milford Michigan. We called ahead and they said we could come early. Yay!!
We stopped for lunch in Coldwater at the Big Boy restaurant there.
We spotted an Airstream on M-127 heading south. No wave. No blink.
We arrived at Camp Dearborn about 6:30PM and left the trailer hooked up until Sunday. Someone was on our site we had reserved for the rally and we would move there Sunday.
We barbequed pork chops, butternut squash and beans for dinner.
Day 54 - Sun Sep 19 2010
Another cool, damp morning, with predicitons for possible showers and hi's only in the mid-70's again. It's Fall in Michigan for sure. It warmed up a little when the sun finally came out. We waited for the people on our site to move, and then we unhooked and set up. We took a drive to hubby's cousin's place and they made us a fabulous dinner - ribs and baked potatoes. Yummy. Their three little boys -- the oldest is only 5 -- were sooo cute and sooo good. Hubby's Aunt from Arizona was there and it was very good to see her. We had a great visit on a great day. We got back to the trailer before 10PM.
DAY 55 - Mon Sep 20 2010
Another cool, overcast morning. We set up the First-Up tent and priced all the stuff we had for the 'flea market' on Saturday.
Later, we took a drive to find a CD player, and then back to the trailer to make spaghetti sauce for dinner.
DAY 56 - Tue Sep 21 2010
We awoke to a beautiful, sunny morning although quite windy. Hi's in the mid-80's today.
We took a short drive to Milford for laundry and groceries, and when we got back, hubby's Aunt, cousin and little ones came by for a visit. It was a busy, windy afternoon with the little ones, and they all left after we had dinner.
DAY 57 - Wed Sep 22 2010
Damp and muggy morning. The storm through the night took out our First-Up tent -- twisted and bent the frame. We propped it back up and hoped for the best. Some things in the tent got wet, including the new CD player. We went to Walmart to find another pop-up tent, and were glad to find one, on sale! We got back to the trailer, and cooked dinner, watched Survivor and bed.
DAY 58 - Thu Sep 23 2010
Cloudy and overcast until the sun came out at noon - hi's in the mid-80's today. We sat and watched alot of trailers pull in the the TCT Fall Gathering. We watched until it was time for dinner at the "big tent" -- sloppy joes, beans and chips. It was very good. After dinner we watched the TCT History presentation which was also quite interesting. We had seen it before, but it was better this time.
DAY 59 - Fri Sep 24 2010
Overcast morning, and then the wind came. It was very windy again. The wind finally took our old First-Up down. We finally relented and took it down and threw it away. No saving it this time. We decided not to put the new one up.
We went to the "big tent" to carve a pumpkin. It was fun to do.
Pizza at the "big tent" for dinner, then it was dress up time for the TCT Trailer Tacky Contest. We both dressed up -- me in my pink and black polka-dot skirt and red, black feather trimmed sweater (complete with Dame Edna red glasses of course) -- he in his rolled up jeans and funky sun glasses. We had a blast. Quite a few people ddressed up and everyone had a great time.
DAY 60 - Sat Sep 25 2010
Cool, but sunny morning with hi's only in the 60's today. It's "flea market" day and we set up all the stuff we'd accumulated along the road. We ended up spending more than what we made at the sale. We had many 'tours' through the trailer and everyone loved it.
We had dinner at the "big tent" again, then a fire back at our place. A few people came by to visit, but it got too cold too early to sit out too long. We got in where it was warm and early to bed.
Day 61 - Sun Sep 26 2010
THE LAST DAY OF OUR TRIP ! !
Cold but sunny and we packed up to head home -- finally.
We got away from Camp Dearborn about 11AM, and after stopping at the Duty Free and sailing through the border, we got home about 3PM.
Our daughter and grandboys stopped in to welcome us home and it was great to see them all.
It was a great trip. Can't wait to do it again ! !

We travelled 14,040 kms,
15 States,
3 Provinces (including 1 Island),
61 Days.
