Drove 298 miles in 6 hours... (finally a sunny day!)... down I-75 thru Altanta & Macon. Got off the madness at Cordele onto Hwy 300... a nice parkway, SW to Albany, then Hwy 19 down to Camilla, Rt. 97 to Bainbridge and finally to Chattahoochee, FL. [Technically, we are in GA.. only 1.5 miles N. of the FL line. The official address here is Bainbridge, GA.]
Nearly avoided accidents in Cincinnati and Atlanta, what with idiots cutting in and out, changing lanes without signaling or looking, right in front of me! As my dear-old-dad would say... 'damn fools'!
Arrived at Lake Seminole in mild weather. Got a site right on the water. Not bad. Lots of Geese, Coots, Herons & Egrets right out the door! Can't beat the price... for hook-ups and hot showers. Donna likes it... a bit too 'civilized' for me... Drove around a bit on Sat. and checked out the 'dam views'... Drove into the neighboring town of Sneads, past the Apalachee Correctional Institute, for some minor shopping and some poor Mexican food.
Sunday was overcast and misty.
Monday dawns clear... 84º today. Went for a very short hike.

There are some hair-raising stories associated with that area. Everytime we stop around there, I remember them! They're connected to the old prison, etc. A rest area on Highway 10 at Sneads is said to be haunted, etc. I've never been out to the lake, though. Very nice area, though.
