We did it! We bought one. It wasn't the one that I was hoping for but my husband was tired of the search. The search included 100s of hours on line , 100s or hours of phone calls (to some of the nicest people - I wanted to buy every nice person's trailer), several $100 in gas and one lost deposit. All of this was done in a two week span.
Do you remember, "*I* want an Oompa Loompa! I want you to get me an Oompa Loompa right away!" That was me. My husband tried something very similiar to the "can it you nit" response but that fell on deaf ears.
We didn't look close enough, hail damage and small dents we saw, and one large roof dent we didn’t see. Everything works. DIRTY!
Searching how to confirm Year and Model is taking so much time because of all the stuff to read. Ran across - "Colin Hyde (you will know him if you ever listen to the VAP podcast). " So now can add listening to airstream pod casts in car to my list of Airstream things.
Well, it is backed into the backyard. Family and neighbors have started dropping by for their 1st visit. Inventory has been started along with this blog. Back to the manual search. Oh, have to mention, St. James the husband, is cleaning the house as I have abondoned all things beside work to keep the paycheck, a bit of play time with the dogs, and then AIRSTREAM research. We have increased the internet speed and turned off the TV service.

Congrats and welcome to the Airstream family!! My husband and I rescued/renovated a flood-damaged '69 Tradewind...trust me the dirt will come off. The dents (as long as they're not structural or expose the trailer to leaks) are beauty marks..the fun will be in choosing your interior "theme" and seeing that vision come to life.
Cheers...and congrats again!

Congrats. We "rescued" a '73 TW (our second vintage AS) out of Green Bay a year and a half ago. Perfect size for just about anything you like to do.
Any questions? Send us a PM. Always glad to help out.
