work, work, work

We've been working so much on the trailer this week, we haven't had time to catch up. Hubby figured out how to brace the shell with jacks and now have 4 floor pieces cut and ready to go in. Bathroom piece is the hardest. He used c-clamps, vice grips and a ratchet strap to pull the sides of the shell in even with the frame. Worked like a charm.
All the window and door gaskets are done. I started scrubbing the inside walls. We've decided to paint. So many stains, so dirty looking. I was also concerned about the mold we found behind the bathroom cabinets. Our son is allergic to it, so a good scrubbing with bleachy soft scrub did the trick. I know it's taboo to paint for those purists, but actually, I like a little color. I primed all the inside walls minus the bathroom, with a thin coat of an oil-based primer. Stinky, but it covered well.
Next week hub will continue cutting pieces for the floor, bending new metal for the wheel wells (former sheet metal worker ), insulating and screwing the floor in place.
I'll start painting the bathroom cabinets (very stained, faded). I tested the Krylon fusion paint ( in buttercream, a perfect match) and it covers well. I'll leave the striped veneered doors--they are perfect, but the rest of the plastic on the shelves, counter area needs paint. All the walls need is a shine up with some gel gloss--they are in pretty good shape.
We're on track to make our goal of finishing it before March 31. Ambitious, I know, but warehouse rent will add up to more than we paid for it in a matter of a few months. Really, once the floor is done, and we hold a rivet party, the rest should go back in well. We can do some of the details outside of the warehouse.
Love any tips, experiences and advice!
