Rescuing a '99 27ft Safari from a barn

This is my story of rescuing an American Icon.
It all began with a phone call. My wife answered her phone and on the other end was her mother. She had heard of an Airstream for sale. One that was forgotten for a few years. She didn't know the condition, year or even how long it was. All she knew is it was an Airstream, lonely, sitting in a barn in rural Oklahoma. My wife and I decided, if it were in somewhat good condition, we would meet them there with the cash.
This was in early September of '16. My wife and I, eager, but trying not to get our hopes up, went out to look at the trailer. It was dusty. It was dirty. It was an Airstream. And...it was in fantastic condition!
