I was actually surprised at how light compared to GVW my 25' trailer is when loaded to go. Hitched and on the road loaded we have 5600 lbs on the trailer axles and 800 lbs added to the truck for a total of 6300 against a GVW of 6800 lbs. I do have the generator, the spare tire, the fishing gear, and the heavy tools in the truck instead of the trailer. If we are headed north we carry the box of the heavy boots and parkas in the truck until we need them.
Most of the weight added is fresh water full and a little water in the holding tanks, 2 full propane tanks, canned goods in the pantry slide out, and canned and bottled drinks under the sofa. I rebuilt the bottom of the drawer there to handle heavy loads. We seem to carry fewer clothes than some Airstreamers.
I have not weighted our longer trailer. It tends to stay in one spot though we do pull it once a year or so. Be interested to see how it weighs out.
