We found the supplied AI hex corian table was too large for our needs. Actually, we rarely even use/need it. Then I found this Tommy Bahama copper & stainless steel serving tray. It was the perfect size for our needs (20" dia). It also has a deep lip to prevent things from sliding off and contain any spills. But it's best feature is its small size & round shape, making it easy to ingress & egress around it even when mounted on its pedestal. To fabricate was really easy. It took longer to drill the holes on the tray & banding because my drill bit had dulled out (and I was too lazy to run out to Lowe's), than to put the entire piece together. I routered out a bigger piece of butcher block to same size as a base. Mounted a lazy susan under it. And strapped the side circumference with polished stainless steel banding attached with stainless steel round head screws to make them look like AS rivets. That ought make it feel at home inside an AS |
