Nashville to Macon

Still no VPN or TV so we called Chris and asked him to stop by the house and reboot the network. Thanks Chris! The IP HAD changed... contrary to what the 'tech' at RCN was telling us... grrrr... but what a relief to get back online, knowing Mark could do his work, and more importanly, we wouldn't miss the World Series!

So after our nerves were calmed, we passed over the mountain to Chattanooga, and at the top is this beautiscious rest stop, one of the best. We stopped for lunch:...

Pesotum to Nashville

We got up and on the road at an unusually early time for us: 9AM. As we drove south, the scenery became more hilly, the wind subsided, the gas mileage improved.
I keep saying we need to explore southern Illinois, as it's really beautiful and so geographicaly different than northern.
Still no TV, or VPN to home. We use a slingbox for TV and the fact that the VPN is down probably means RCN is having trouble. I checked the condo website which I run, and it's down too. I called the building...

Through the Storm

We left for Florida during what was billed as the worst thunderstorm in 70 years. We didn't really think the wind was all that bad on the drive out to the barn. Once we got hitched up, though, we were beginning to wonder whether or not to turn back...
It was windy alright, but the P3 kept the trailer from swaying, and we pushed forward.
We stopped the first night some 53 miles short of goal - which was amazing given the circumstances.
At 1AM we lost TV, and lost communication with...
