Canadian and her 67' Trade Wind

I received the opportunity to get a 67'Trade Wind. So I immediately said yes sight unseen. Living on an Island means taking a ferry which is a pain in the butt. So off we went in the dead of winter across BC to pick up my project. This is not a quick decision. I've researched this for years. I know it's going to be like anything else in life worth having. A lot of hard work and money. I've had it inspected and insured. Towed home. That's as far as I've gotten.

installing a 30 amp RV outlet at home

Posted 12-15-2020 at 10:31 PM by Markhambryan

You make the breaker at the panel the appropriate gauge to protect the wire. 10 gauge Romex is 30 amp and requires a 30 amp breaker. 8 gauge Romex is 40 amps and requires a up to a 40 amp breaker. You could put a 30 amp breaker on 8 gauge wire if you choose. Heavy on the wire and light on the breaker is safest. Go by what your electrician’s advice on the safest install for your application. Main thing on your end is to remember it’s a single pole breaker for a 120 volt trailer.
