Hi the community;
I am bruno from France ( brunoffrance...) and the happy owner of an Overlander 27' from '71.
The blog -story was made to tell the uncommon story about our Airstream from USA to France, step by step in 2002.
After that I've tried to tell stories with this new toy and other american toys came in my life.
After the caravan , it was the pick-up truck to tow it, then an Harley-davidson, then travels in USA, my wedding in USA....
I try to post interesting subjects on what it's passion for my wife and I, with lot of pictures and comments ... from me.
hope you ll read it with great pleasure.

He has ridden my blog and told me that he has nearly the same rig when he goes in vacations; He tows and airstream with a Pick-up trailer and a Buell ( motorcycle ) in the bed ... as me.
His job was to rent his excella 1000 to celebrities actors in France...
he emailed me a photo; really not usual rig.... but total respect !

Water heater dismountle

Posted 09-07-2008 at 03:01 AM by brunoffrance (Airstream, Harley-davidson and the american dream in france)

Always something to do in a vintage Airstream, and this year, a water leak appeared just behind the toilet and the wood floor began to became wet...
After checking the toilet faucet, tubes, I thought it was OK but no, the leak was on and water filling outside the Caravan by the curve....
The problem was situated on the water heater area... impossible to dismountle it during vacations so yesterday was the day....
what a work when all is "vintage", i mean rusted or riveted.......

New Awning

Posted 08-23-2008 at 07:49 AM by brunoffrance (Airstream, Harley-davidson and the american dream in france)

The old one dated certainly from 1971, I've decided, this year to replace it by a new one, from Sunbrella. No good prices from Zip dee, and others dealers giving me only a price on feet, I 've decided to find one dealer in France and i've found from Dickson Constant manufacture list, near my home.
It was a good decision because rplace the awning without a professional, on a vintage Zip dee system, was not so easy...
