We’re in Oklahoma City for 2 nights. Just taking a break from the drive and found a great RV park.

Just got out of the pool and hot tub, so we’re really roughing it.

I got to use the grill that I converted from high-pressure propane to low pressure. That is so I can run it off the big tanks already attached to the AS and not have to carry those small green 1 Lb. tanks.

Gaile’s preparation continues to be spot on. Tonight we had shrimp, potatoes, and sausage...

On The Way

Only a few days past the original leave date. We deleted the Iowa State Fair and are beating feet across on US 40 West as direct as we can to Albuquerque.

It’s been a hoot of a trip already.

Planning can go two ways. It can be meticulous or loose. We’re a terrific partnership because one of us approaches planning directly opposite of the other. Meticulous won for the trip out, we have official reservations with approximately 4 hours of driving between stops.

Rally Feedback for what it's worth.

I'm not sure where this will hit on the scale of good or bad experiences or how it will be received by the community. I just have to share our experiences on a special rally last week.
I had been looking forward to this rally for a year. The venue was less than two hours away. The campground is clean without a bad spot in the place. The event is centered around a heritage music festival in the mountains of Virgina.
I am not trying to be cute or anything about specifics of the rally....

A visit to The Mother Ship (TMS) - a last minute decision to go

Some reflections on our visit to The Mother Ship. We drove about 4 hours from our week long stream side camp in Michagin to Jackson Center, Ohio. TMS is the only plant in the world that builds Airstreams.
They build them all here.
They build them mostly by hand.
There are pneumatic tools for riveting and some hydraulic sheet metal bending machines but most of the work is done by hand. They move the trailer by hand from station to station.
They build to order....

Time is moving too fast!

Where did the time go? We've been on the road for 6 days. It's hard to believe it has been that long.

It's quite a site to have 3 shiny silver trailers caravaning down the interstate. I do notice a few smiles passing us by. We get a lot of attention at rest stops.

We've skirted Detroit and Columbus and that was good. I must say the roads or the right lane of most roads are pretty rough. We stay out of the way since we're usually below the speed limit and let others...
