Description: Schroeder is a Josephine County Park offering camping and day use facilities roughly 4.5 miles from Grants Pass, OR. A Large campsite has at least a 12'x12' tent pad area. Medium sites are at least 10'x10' and Small sites are at least 8'x8'.
This campground has full hook-ups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service. Sewage and water also.
Campground does have flush toilets and showers. Some of the showers were not properly functional during our trip in April 2012. Hot water wasn't guaranteed. This campground is located in a residental area and there is a bit of foot traffic from those that are not using the campground. There is a volleyball court, baseball diamond, playground, pet area annd boat ramp. It is located right along the Rogue River. There is lots of shade trees. Also, two yurts are available.
Campgound does have a host and is relativly clean.

Pros: cheap, shady, close to town
Cons: Lots of foot traffic from those not using campground. Bathroom could have been cleaner and showers not working properly.

We stayed for 4 nights at Schroeder. It would be suitable if you were staying one night as a stop-over. We also rent a yurt in the camp site next to use for other people that were camping with us. We were having breakfast in our trailer when someone tried to break into the yurt. He was not another camper. My husband and friend confronted him and we also notified the camp host. There is a bit of foot traffic from people who are not using the campground. This campground is located with a residental area. Also, it appeared that there were homeless people in the site next to us. Now, homeless people have the right to camp too, but they left super early and I'm not sure they paid for their site. Camp host didn't seem to be aware that they were there.
We would have gone to another campground, but we couldn't find one that had a yurt available to accomodate the additional people that were in our group.
Bathrooms weren't very clean and showers were not working properly.
