Description: We hope you will enjoy this desert oasis as much as we did when we discovered it last weekend. We've driven past it many times in the last 35 years but never stopped. It is a treasure. Located in the Tularosa Basin at the base of the Sacramento Mountains, you can camp here and take day trips to White Sands National Monument, Cloudcroft, Sunspot, Lincoln National Forest and more. 14 miles south of Alamogordo, NM.
Full hookups and dry camping. Hiking trails.

Pros: Remote, quiet, off the beaten path, no light pollution at night.
Cons: None that we can think of.

Now that we found it, we intend to make this our getaway when we just need to get out of the big city.

Pros: Great place to get away from the ABQ metro area after an easy drive. Good hiking trails right from the campground. A wealth of interesting NM history in this immediate area.
Cons: None.

Good jump-off point to White Sands National Monument or other historic venues within close proximity. Very nice campground.
