Description: This KOA campground is located next door to Lion Country Safari. In fact, the park is so close you can hear the lions roaring at night and first thing in the morning.

The park is typical KOA, but the sites are a little larger than most KOA's and should be able to accommodate any size of rig. The park is beautifully landscaped and the pool area and showers are spotlessly clean and well maintained.

The park is right next door and the campground offers package deals that include your campsite and passes to the theme park for the duration of your stay. It takes an hour or so to drive thru the safari park (they have cars available to rent if you need one) and then once thru the safari you can park and go into the theme park portion. There is plenty of rides for the kids and plenty of up-close animal encounters.

A full assortment of stores is just a 10 minute drive away.

Pros: lions are cool.
Cons: horrible internet access, grumpy people work there, location, expense

I just finished a 4 month stay at this campground. I'll start by saying they are located in the middle of nowhere, which is a little annoying if you plan on going anywhere during your stay.

There was one nice lady working in the office, but the rest were generally hard to deal with and unhappy. They also claim to have internet access, but it is a hassle to get it and when you can it's very slow.

They have a laundromat on site, but they charge as much as they possibly can for it and the machines are small. Same with the soda machine - $2 for one. It's hard to feel welcome in a place that over charges for basic little things. One roll of quarters isn't going to get you clean clothes AND a soda here.
