Pros: Quiet, shaded sites, clean.
Cons: Some uneven sites, but not more than an inch out of level.

We stayed here for three nights in May 2007. It takes 20 to 30 minutes via I-95 and I-16 to get to downtown Savannah, if that's what you stop here to do. Very nice facility with all the usual features and an RV wash station. Spotless restrooms, and a helpful friendly staff.

The usual highway exit eaterys near by, but the cheapest gas we found between NC and FL at a highway exit. The 606 Cafe in Richmond Hill, about 10 - 15 minutes north from the campground is a "trip" if you go there. Good food and drink, interesting decor.

Nice, fairly spacious back-in sites along the lake edge, with a Kamping Kabin inserted every three sites or so. Pull-thru sites across the access road from the lake edge sites. Some long-term metered sites further back, and some permanent modular home sites farthest back. Didn't notice much traffic from the permanent settlements. All the "short term" sites are up front near the office, and that's the furthest away from I-95 so we didn't hear it much like other roadside campgrounds.

The best part of any trip is when you pull away from home.
