We camp at Gifford Pinchot State Park PA twice a year in the spring and fall. We have always found it a great place to stay. The web site includes great information.
Gifford Pinchot State Park, a 2,338-acre full service park, is in northern York County along PA 177 between the towns of Rossville and Lewisberry. The park consists of reverting farm fields and wooded hillsides with the 340-acre Pinchot Lake serving as a prime attraction.

Pros:
|
nice hiking trails, great for canoeing and fishing, nice paved roads, convenient online reservations

Cons:

very few pet sites with electric, best sites (on water) have no electricity, showers stalls are not setup very convenient or private for men

We live less than 45 mins from the campground so we frequent it quite a bit. We really like it for weekends trips where we don't need water or sewer hookups. We prefer B or D loops. If you have kids or dogs you should look at D loop, its close to playground and hiking trails.
