Description: Hungry Mother State Park
2854 PARK BOULEVARD
MARION VA 24354-9323
( 276)781-7400
Three campgrounds, two appropriate for rvs. Campground A has all electric and water hookups (park has dump station) and accommodates various equipment types up to 35 feet in length. Campground B is located near the cabin area and also features sites with electric and water hookups, equipment up to 35 feet. B is the most scenic loop (map). Note 35 feet for equipment is true, it was tight turning and getting around in a 28' trailer. Restaurant. Nice visitor center and camp store. Good trails. Beautiful scenery.
Reservations are not site specific.

Pros: Great for families, fishing, boating, nice beach, trails, playground
Cons: Tight for rigs 28' and up, bathhouses need remodeling, reservations not site specific

This is a wonderful park. Thanks to the forum folks who wrote about it in threads.I would give it a higher rating except for the bathhouse the showers did not drain well and needed some work.Overall clean facilities and friendly hosts.A gorgeous CCC park.Lots of places to hike, accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. An ampitheater on a little island. If only we'd brought the kayak, next time for sure.Lifeguards at the beach.Great new playground.Visitor center was wonderful.Hubby (main driver) complained about tight turns and dump station. He thought it was almost too much for a 28' trailer let alone the 35' limit the park gives. We will come again.B loop has a little creek and some gorgeous rhodedendrons.
